Supporters of Marijuana Legislation Push for 2020 Legalization
Arizonans in support of legalizing marijuana are carefully considering how to avoid mistakes made by other states in crafting a 2020 legalization ballot measure. In 2016, the state voted against legalization by only a small margin of 2.6%. However, supporters are aiming to try again in 2020.
Voters will be interested in the number of licenses granted, tax revenue, impacts on employment, and impacts on the criminal justice system. Voters are also concerned about how the state will regulate advertising to minors as well as the use of marijuana in public.
